FAQ
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HISTORICAL TROLLEY TOUR AND THE ORIGINAL TROLLEY SHOW?
The Historical Trolley Tour is pretty close to what you'd expect on a sightseeing tour. There's one conductor showing you the history of the town. They also have lots of chocolate. The experience lasts about 65-75 minutes, and may very well be the best historical trolley tour you ever ride.
The Original Trolley Show is NOT what you'd expect on a sightseeing tour. It is a theatrical production on a moving trolley where 2 actors bring the story of Hershey to life with characters, songs, and much more (including chocolate). The experience lasts about 45 minutes, and we guarantee you will not find a sightseeing tour like this anywhere else. Trust us on this. We've done the research.
You're seeing almost all of the same sites regardless of which Trolley you choose. But here is a good rule of thumb. If you're traveling as a family, strongly consider the show. If you're traveling without kids, you might favor the Historical Tour.
WHERE DO I GET THE TROLLEY?
We are based in Hershey's Chocolate World. All Trolleys start and end at Chocolate World. Bring your tickets to our trolley depot, right outside the front door of Chocolate World, to board your trolley. It's best to arrive about 10 minutes in advance.
CAN I BRING FOOD OR DRINKS ON THE TROLLEY?
No, except for water. It's very difficult to keep the trolleys clean with hundreds of people on and off every day. Please finish your meals and snacks before you board the trolley. This is also true for the other attractions inside Hershey's Chocolate World.
DOES THE TROLLEY MAKE STOPS ALONG THE WAY?
No. We start and end at Chocolate World. We don't have any get off/get back on stops along the route.
CAN I BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE?
Absolutely! Tickets are available for every operating day for advance online purchase. Guests can link to the purchase site from this website, from HERSHEYSCHOCOLATEWORLD.COM, or by going directly to TICKETS.HERSHEYS.COM.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE MY DATE OR TIME OF AFTER I'VE MADE AN ONLINE PURCHASE?
The fastest, easiest solution for you is to call the Chocolate World online ticket office at 717-508-1255. They are super friendly and abundantly helpful.
IS THE TROLLEY WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
No. The trolleys are configured exactly like school buses. In order to board, a person needs to be able to ascend (or be helped up) 3 steps. There are handrails. However, there is no lift or ramp onto the trolley, and no place to lock down a chair or similar device.
WHAT IS AVAILABLE FOR GUESTS WHO ARE CONFINED TO A WHEELCHAIR?
We gladly offer a personalized, in-car tour for guests who are unable to board the trolley. This is very similar to the style of tour offered by the Gettysburg National Battlefield guides. One of our conductors will ride along in the guest's vehicle and offer the same personal tour of the sites and story of Hershey. To schedule one of these tours, please email [email protected]
IS THE TROLLEY CLIMATE CONTROLLED OR OPEN AIR?
All the trolleys are enclosed and climate controlled. Air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter. We operate in rain or shine, but not in snow.
HOW CAN I MAKE A RESERVATION FOR MY COMPLIMENTARY OR DISCOUNT TICKETS?
If you have a voucher for complimentary tickets (e.g. tickets you won in a school fundraiser) just send an email to [email protected], and we will get you set up. If you qualify for discount tickets (e.g. you are an employee of The Hershey Company), you should go to the Central Tickets desk inside Hershey's Chocolate World to get your tickets ahead of time.
DO YOUR SAMPLES CONTAIN NUTS OR OTHER ALLERGENS?
Some of them do, yes. In almost all of our shows we sample Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. On the Holly Jolly Trolley we sample Hershey's Kisses with Almonds.
We also sample an assortment of Hershey's Kiss flavors, and Hershey Bars as well. The best way to get specific ingredient information is to follow this link to

ARE MY TICKETS GOOD FOR ANY TROLLEY SHOW?
No. Each ticket we sell is for a specific date and time.
WHAT IF I AM LATE FOR MY TROLLEY?
The Trolley will wait 3 minutes after scheduled show time to allow for guests who are running late. If you miss your show, take your tickets inside Hershey's Chocolate World to the box office to see about an exchange or refund. There is no guarantee that the next performance will have enough open seats.

We have permission to use the name HERSHEY from The Hershey Company, and we are dedicated to sharing the inspiring story of Milton S. Hershey, the sites of the town he created, and the chocolate that made his name a household word.
